Professional Experience

Mr. Kawahara is the Director of our Material and Chemical Division. His practice encompasses patent prosecution and litigation in the material science, alternative energy, chemistry, medical devices, and mechanical engineering fields. Mr. Kawahara has particular expertise in the areas of glass composition, semiconductor technologies, steel technologies, inhalation devices, ultrasonic mammography technologies, photovoltaic cells, fuel cells, and tire technologies. Prior to joining SUGIMURA, he worked within the IP department of Cannon Inc. where he specialized in Cannon’s core technologies within the medical device, medical imaging, photovoltaic cells, and optical material industries.
