Masakazu SHIMIZU
Professional Experience
Mr. Shimizu is the Director of Patent Acquisition Division at our firm which he joined in 2022. His practice encompasses patent prosecution and appeal in the information processing and electrical engineering fields. Prior to joining SUGIMURA, he served as an Examiner, as Director of the Electronic Image Devices Division, as Chief Appeal and Trial Examiner, and then, as Director of 30th Board of Appeal at the JPO for almost 33 years. Mr. Shimizu’s experience at the JPO brings valuable insight into the internal practices of these organizations, adding to the efficacy of practical strategic advice afforded our clients.
