Professional Experience

As SUGIMURA’s Foreign Counsel Liaison, Ms. Chen leads the firm’s business development and client relations within North America, South America, and Europe. Working with the firm’s Japanese patent attorneys, she consults clients on Japanese IP matters, keeping them up-to-date with current IP issues. Ms. Chen is active in the IP community and serves as the delegate for the California State Bar, IP Section on the JPO/US Bar Liaison Council, as a Vice Chair of the ABA YLD IP Law Committee, and as the Co-Chair of the Corporate Patent Seminar. Prior to joining SUGIMURA, Ms. Chen gained experience working in the legal department of an international software company in Minneapolis, USA and at law firms in New York, USA and Beijing, China.
